Bermuda Championship: Smotherman Defeats Power in Monday Play-Off

Austin Smotherman won the Bermuda Championship at Port Royal Golf Course. In the third extra hole of the sudden-death play-off that began Monday morning, Irish golfer Seamus Power made a bogey, and Smotherman secured the title with a two-putt par.
The main competition ended at 16 under par. After 54 holes, both golfers were tied at the same score. Sunday's play was postponed due to strong winds, and the final round was cancelled. As a result, the competition was shortened to 54 holes instead of 72.
This is Smotherman's second consecutive PGA Tour title. He won the Bank of Utah Championship earlier in the same month.
In the play-off, both golfers made par on the first two extra holes. The hole location was changed for the third hole. Power made a bogey, and Smotherman secured the title with a two-putt par.
Smotherman praised the PGA Tour's decision-making and communication process.
Immediately after the play-off ended, the tour departed for the Mexico Championship, which begins on Thursday.
